Quality Assurance Test Engineer
Job Description:
The individual will be responsible for writing and executing test cases, logging and tracking defects against software and firmware, ensuring adequate test coverage, maintaining appropriate test and QA related documentation, helping to manage hardware, firmware and software for test environments.
1. Write and execute test cases.
2. Log defects, track through resolution, and test fixes.
3. Ensure appropriate test coverage for software/firmware releases.
4. Help maintain QA related documentation.
5. Help manage test environments.
6. Help build and manage QA infrastructure including processes and procedures, defect tracking
system, and test case management system.
7. Help create (and eventually automate) regression test suites.
Minimum Qualifications:
• BS or higher degree preferred.
• 6-8 years experience as a tester/analyst.
• Software product experience (vs. project or internal IT) is a plus.
• Experience in a start up environment is a plus.
• Experience in a small, growing QA team.
• Experience writing test cases and determining appropriate test coverage
• Basic understanding of software lifecycles methodologies
• Experience with defect tracking and test case management tools
• Experience with databases
• Experience with test automation tools a plus.
• Experience with Unix is a plus
• Hands on hardware test experience is a plus
