Planner/Scheduler
Job Description:
Looking for an outstanding leader in formulating project plans, requirements, strategies, goals, and objectives for technical projects and obtaining collaboration of key staff for project execution. An excellent communicator between technical and business units who can translate complex data into easily understood terms.

Lead Project Planner for major DoD programs responsible for the planning of all activities for project initiation, including the development of project plans, risk assessments, and project schedules.

Generates Work Breakdown Structures, Responsibility/Accountability Matrices, and full Gantt project schedules identifying tasks, resources, deliverables, and milestones.

Consolidates Gantt project schedules across all programs/projects within the Broadband organization to form a Broadband Master Resource Requirements Schedule with buy-in from managers.

Maintains/Updates Broadband Master Resource Requirements Schedule on a weekly basis.

Publishes Broadband Master Resource Requirements Schedule to Broadband organizational leadership and Program/Project Managers on a weekly basis.

Conducts and facilitates project planning meetings with program/project managers and managers from various organizations.

Monitor projects by selecting critical action plans; reviewing results; recommending corrective actions.

Improves processes for analyzing performance of project work through calculation of Earned Value.

Report continuously to management on technical and non-technical issues that could impact the overall technical suitability of the project.
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree preferred

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Project/Microsoft Project Server

Must meet qualifications necessary to obtain Secret level security clearance.

3 -5 years of operational experience in project management in a government contracting environment preferred.

Must have 1-2 years experience in developing and maintaining work force/resource assignment planning and reporting metrics.

Must have proven experience in project management with strategic planning experience.

Must be a self-starter and require minimal supervision.

Capable of understanding technically complex systems and products and translating them into easily understood business terms especially with regards to resource requirements assessment

Objective and fact-based approach to problem solving that is highly quantitative.
