Project Engineer
Job Description:
Pre-Sale
· Provide technical design, build BOMs and pricing for proposal as needed
· Site surveys, job meetings, infrastructure specs as needed
· Identify all cabling and miscellaneous materials needed for said project
· Assist with development and approve miscellaneous material estimates
· Assist with development and approve labor estimates
· Insure that the system will perform as represented & troubleshoot
· Turn out design/bid documents for design-build contracts
· Create pricing for bids if required
· Design Wall plates and overlays
Post Sale
· Assume ownership of project installation
· Establish and maintain a line of communication with the client
· Develop weekly project updates for clients
· Coordinate with other trades, sub-contractors as needed
· Check material control sheet developed by Account manager to confirm it is accurate and complete. Prepare for BOM order
· Develop installation schedule, to include in house rack fab and testing
· Monitor and ensure labor expenditures do not exceed budget
· Coordinate with Installation Manager & secure necessary man power for installation
· Develop & coordinate necessary CAD drawings for field techs
· Develop & coordinate necessary CAD drawings for submittal to client
· Design Wall plates and overlays
· Coordinate with, and direct lead technician assigned to said project
· Provide continuing engineer support during the installation phase
· Provide field install/trouble shooting support as needed
· Video switchers, processors and VTC system programming as needed
· Custom operation manuals
· Assist with project sign off
Minimum Qualifications:
· Formal education in engineering or related field experiencepreferred
· Detail orientation and ability to follow-through with lengthy, complex projects
· Proficiency in CAD, Visio and/or DTools
· Proficiency with IP connectivity and bandwidth requirements
· Proficient in DSP, Video and Audio matrix programming
· Excellent internal and external customer interaction skills
· Thorough knowledge of systems design, electrical requirements and troubleshooting
Skills Needed:
· Ability to own a project from pre-sale to signoff
· Understand Pricing and Margin Strategy
· Ability to think and work independently & meet necessary deadlines
· Effective & professional interaction with employees, customers and colleagues
